The shop is the creation of locals artists Kim Pursche and Debbie Smith Mezzetta. For years
Kim sold her handmade crafts and pottery directly to enthusiastic customers. Demand was so
strong that she opened a small store, which she quickly outgrew. Nearly four years ago, she
moved into a larger location, which has become home to the works of more than 50 different
artists and crafters selling an interesting variety of gifts and items for the home.
As Kim's long time friend and recent business partner, Debbie has contributed her own flavor
and wonderfully creative ideas to the shop. Her artwork has been featured at countless local
art exhibits including the Washington D.C.'s Party Animals and Pandamania public arts
projects. The shop has been a great outlet for Debbie's line of decorative and whimsical home
decor items.
Many of the items here are not available anywhere else, says Ms. Pursche, who has a waiting
list of artists wanting to sell their work in the shop. Our customers really appreciate the one-
of-a-kind offerings and are pleased to be able to help support the local arts and crafts
community. Along with the unique offerings, many shoppers think that it is this personal
touch that has made the shop such a success. “You never feel pressured,” says Rebecca
Brezenoff, a frequent Vienna shopper. “Some of the art that you find here is generally
available only in galleries, but it’s more fun to shop here. And there’s always something new.”
Though the shop is modest in size, it offers a wide variety of ever changing items with a
broad range of prices. You can find great gifts priced anywhere from $5 for a handmade soap
